This artwork is used as the cover of volume 28 of the famous manga of the same name. It has been prepublished since 1989 in Monthly Animal House and then Young Animal magazines by publisher Hakusensha, and 41 volumes have been released as of December 2021. The French version is published by Glénat and 40 volumes have been released as of 17 April 2019. Following Miura's death in May 2021, the series is due to resume publication in June 2022 under the supervision of Miura's childhood friend, Kōji Mori, and Miura's group of assistants and apprentices from Studio Gaga.
